It’s important to note that compostable mailer bags should meet specific compostability standards such as ASTM D6400 or EN 13432， ensuring their compostability and adherence to recognized industry standards.

These standards ensure that the material will break down into organic matter under the right conditions, leaving no harmful residues behind. However, for compostable materials to break down properly, they typically require an industrial composting facility with controlled temperature, humidity, and microbial activity.

They may not break down as readily in backyard composting systems. Therefore, it’s crucial to follow proper disposal guidelines for compostable mailer bags to maximize their environmental benefits.
